See All ReviewsThis was my first visit to this brunch place. I’d been curious but had heard the prices were a bit high. The truth is that the prices are indicative of the portion you receive. My daughter and I both ordered a biscuit sandwich (farmboy and bright side), a piece of blueberry cinnamon cornbread and a split a side of the rosemary Parmesan potatoes. Because the Sammie’s are served open face, you’re actually getting nearly twice the amount of food. Both were generously stacked with ingredients and the presentation was beautiful. We could only finish one half of our sandwiches. As for the taste, all I’ve got is WOW. The melding of flavors was so satisfying. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this local spot. Well worth the money and time!
It’s a Small and personal hole-in-the wall with a pretty good vibe. The biscuit was good and obviously cooked fresh and the sausage-gravy was some of the best I’ve ever had and I’m from the South where biscuits and gravy are pretty much a staple. My wife and I sat down and found the price for one biscuit smothered in gravy to be $22. The accompanying water glasses were filled with tap-water that tasted awful. We weren’t offered spring or bottled water. The side serving of bacon was $7. So, I’d give it Salt Bloc Biscuit Co. the trophy for “Pricey but good” for this Dayton trip.
The restaurant is cute. The ambience was lovely- industrial, artistic, rustic? Eclectic. Lots of homemade pastries. The biscuits were buttery and perfectly toasted. The food was fresh, just a bit overpriced though the portion was generous. The tea was absolutely amazing, and they were quick to refill. The space is tiny so a bit cramped at peak time, but one of their tables is kind of fun-a long community table.
